Content License & Terms of Use
Terms governing your license to use Sport Risk Intelligence course content: personal professional use only, no redistribution, resale, or use in teaching others. Includes fee/refund terms, disclaimer, and limitation of liability (Ontario, Canada).
Last updated: September 2026
1. What this agreement covers
This License and Terms of Use ("Agreement") governs your access to and use of the continuing education courses, modules, assessments, certificates, and related materials (the "Content") made available by Sport Risk Intelligence ("SRI", "we", "us") through this learning platform (the "Platform"). By creating an account, enrolling in a course, or accessing any Content, you ("User", "you") agree to be bound by this Agreement. If you do not agree, do not create an account or access the Content.
2. Ownership
All Content — including course text, structure, graphics, quizzes, knowledge checks, certificates, and any other material provided through the Platform — is the intellectual property of SRI and its licensors and is protected by copyright law. Purchasing a course or receiving a certificate does not transfer ownership of any Content to you. All rights not expressly granted in this Agreement are reserved.
3. License grant — what you MAY do
Subject to your compliance with this Agreement and payment of any applicable fees, SRI grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:
- Access and view the Content you have enrolled in and paid for;
- Use the knowledge and information contained in the Content for your own individual professional practice; and
- Retain and display any certificate of completion you earn, for your own professional credentialing purposes.
4. Restrictions — what you MAY NOT do
Except as expressly permitted in Section 3, you must not, and must not permit or assist any other person to:
- Redistribute or share the Content, in whole or in part, in any form (digital, printed, screen-recorded, or otherwise) with any other person or organization;
- Resell, sublicense, rent, lease, or otherwise commercially exploit the Content;
- Use the Content to teach, train, instruct, or certify others — including in academic, institutional, continuing-education, in-service, or any other instructional setting — whether for compensation or not. Personal professional use under Section 3 does not include using the Content as teaching material for third parties;
- Share your account credentials or otherwise allow another person to access the Content under your account;
- Copy, reproduce, translate, adapt, or create derivative works from the Content beyond what is technically necessary for your own personal reference (e.g., personal notes);
- Remove, obscure, or alter any copyright notice, watermark, or attribution contained in the Content or any certificate; or
- Use any automated means (scraping, bulk downloading, etc.) to copy Content from the Platform.
This restriction applies regardless of whether an exception to copyright infringement (such as fair dealing, fair use, or an educational-use exception) might otherwise apply — by agreeing to this Agreement, you agree to these contractual limits on use in addition to, and independent of, copyright law.
5. Certificates
A certificate of completion issued through the Platform confirms that the named individual completed the associated course requirements at the time of issuance. Certificates are personal to the individual named on them, are not transferable, and must not be reproduced or issued to any other person. SRI may verify the authenticity of any certificate on request.
6. Account responsibility
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at mike@sportriskintelligence.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
7. Term, suspension, and termination
This Agreement remains in effect for as long as you hold an account or access any Content. SRI may suspend or terminate your access, without refund, if you breach this Agreement, including any violation of Section 4. Termination does not relieve you of obligations that by their nature survive termination, including Sections 2, 4, and 9.
8. Fees and refunds
Course fees are as posted at the time of enrollment. Because Content is delivered digitally and access is granted immediately upon enrollment, all sales are final and no refunds will be issued once a course has been accessed, except where required by applicable law.
9. Disclaimer
The Content is educational in nature and does not replace certified first-responder, resuscitation, medical, or other professional training, nor does it constitute medical, legal, or professional advice. The Content does not expand any user's scope of practice beyond what is authorized by their own regulatory body or jurisdiction. Statutory and guideline references included in the Content are illustrative and current only as of the time of writing — verify current requirements independently before relying on them in practice.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SRI, its officers, employees, contractors, and licensors will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages — including but not limited to personal injury, death, loss of income, loss of certification or employment, or any other loss — arising out of or in connection with your access to or use of the Content or the Platform, your reliance on any information contained in the Content, or your performance of any skill, protocol, or technique described in the Content, whether based in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, or any other legal theory, even if SRI has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
The Content is educational only. It is your sole responsibility to determine whether you are legally permitted to perform any skill, protocol, or act described in the Content within your jurisdiction and scope of practice, to obtain any hands-on, certified, or in-person training required to safely and lawfully perform it, and to comply with all applicable federal, provincial, and local laws, regulations, and your own regulatory body's standards of practice. SRI makes no representation that completing any course satisfies the requirements of any employer, regulatory body, or certifying organization.
Nothing in this Agreement excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by SRI's gross negligence or willful misconduct, or for any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable Ontario or Canadian law.
11. Governing law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
12. Changes to this Agreement
SRI may update this Agreement from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Agreement. Material changes will be communicated to active users where practicable.
